Oscar Garner III
Director of Recruitment
Hey Everyone! My name is Oscar Garner III and I am a senior finance major in the wealth management program. After a successful semester working with the news team, I am proudly taken over for Claire as the Director of Recruitment. WMA is one of Broad’s newer RSOs and I think we have a great opportunity to grow and build the organization alongside the Wealth Management Program. The professional, personal, and academic opportunities alone are enough to excite any driven MSU business student.
Outside of my involvement with WMA, I have worn several hats across the MSU landscape. Of which I am most proud, I am a part of the Chick Evans Scholarship Foundation (ESF) which sends caddies to college for free on the basis of academic success, work ethic and financial need. For the MSU chapter of the ESF, I served as the VP of New Scholar Education where I took on an advisory role to transition the incoming class of scholars from high school senior to college freshmen, academically and socially. In addition to that, I have spent a couple years with both Student Investment Association (SIA) and the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU). When I graduate in May of 2021, I am joining Raymond James at their Tampa headquarters in there ADP Finance Rotation. As I move forward with my involvement in WMA, I look to build on my academic and professional experiences while also adding to the organization and the MSU Broad community as a whole.
I know that this academic year will look very different but, for those reading, do not allow our current circumstances to deter you from getting involved. This is a great opportunity to learn more about wealth management, develop your professional skills, network with industry and university leaders and meet some great students. I look forward to what we have in store.
